Nope, logical I/O does not have anything to do with RAID levels. It derives from the data entropy of the process. If the requested data is not in the cache, the it will imply a physical I/O towards the storage subsystem. Here is a link if you don’t believe me:

American date formatting convention:
MM/DD/YY

Other countries:
DD/MM/YY

This always creates confusion, but thanks for the explanation.

Logical IO is not for data search to generate extra traffic from the physical IO.This mean logical IO are depend on the query fired in database.

logical IO is depend on the RAID.
Let say RAID1 since data spread in 2 disk single IO is devided in 2 logical IOs.

@prakash: yes, I already knew about this method: in case of having a stale NFS mount, you can set up an NFS server on the client itself, thus achieving that it will answer to itself and “deliberate” the the mount.
